INVOLVE CME at Guwahati

The Heart Valve Foundation of India (HVFI), in partnership with Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi, and in collaboration with the Indian Medical Association, Assam Chapter, and the North-East Chapter of the Cardiological Society of India, held a CME in Guwahati on 25 July 2026. The program, titled “INVOLVE – A Unique Interactive Knowledge Exchange Forum,” brought together the medical fraternity for an evening of scientific learning, interaction, and knowledge exchange.

The CME had a unique, case-based interactive format and focused on current guideline-directed management of valvular heart disease and heart failure, contemporary treatment strategies, and recent advances in the management of complex cardiac conditions. The scientific sessions were conducted by Dr Ashok Seth, Dr Aparna Jaswal, and Dr Ritwick Raj Bhuyan from Fortis Escorts Heart Institute.

The CME was inaugurated by Shri Ashok Singhal, Hon’ble Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Medical Education and Research Departments, Government of Assam, and was attended by more than 200 doctors and medical students from across Assam, making it one of the largest scientific educational programs of its kind held in the state.

The highly interactive sessions generated enthusiastic participation and discussion. Attendees greatly appreciated the educational and practical value of the program, particularly the opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss challenging cases with experts, and gain insights that could be translated into everyday clinical practice for the benefit of their patients.

The initiative formed part of the broader collaboration between HVFI and Fortis Escorts Heart Institute aimed at strengthening cardiac care and specialist medical engagement in Assam and across the Northeast, through both advanced patient care and sustained knowledge-sharing with the local medical community.
